special days...

This view is one of the reasons Maggie loves being at Liberty. Majestic. We felt so small. This picture was taken on our way back to PA after a quick trip to Liberty. Our 7 hour drive that turned into 13 hours! This is on the Scenic Parkway, part of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The funniest part was when George realized you have to pay to drive on that part! He is now a member of the national parks something or other that gives him and his passengers free entry into all national parks as long as he lives....or something like that! He has a card and everything!
Next stop....Shenandoah Caverns! Didn't see that one coming! I don't know what this frog has to do with anything, except maybe it was from a parade float. It turns out that the owner also owns a company that designs and builds parade floats...........JACKPOT! The admission ticket is good for 4 of the attractions, one of which is a tour of this 40,000 sq. ft. building that houses parade floats from the Rose Bowl parade, Macy's thanksgiving day parade, inaugural parades...etc! HELLO! We, however, didn't have time to do anything but the caverns...in sandals....I left with stalagmites between my toes. Now I have to go back...someday....the parade floats are calling me.
This picture just makes me happy.....
...as does this. Nice shot Susan!
A typical summer sunday at Grammy and GW's. Meals in bathing suits at an old german beer garden table....
