is it over yet?

It was such a good season, thank goodness it's almost over.
I'm so tired.

S'more Thanksgiving, please

Ok. That was my pitiful attempt to tie together my heartfelt thanks to my brothers and sisters (in-laws included), nieces and nephews, mother and father, husband and kids for ALL their help on Thanksgiving Day (making it the best ever in my book!), and this really great S'mores Kit that could very well end up in pepperberry's at some point in time! Thank you Maggie, for sharing this discovery, knowing it would be something that speaks to me.
So, S'more Thanksgiving? I vote yes. Encore performance next Nov.

Thanksgiving prep, logistics, and reasons to be thankful

Table for 8 please....thank you, just put it in the living room!

This option is looking better everyday. If I bring in my 5' rd banquet table, we have to set up chairs, this way, the benches are attached! Who's on set up committee? I'll bet they'll agree!

Anything goes when you're seating 31.

You should have seen my husband's face when I told him we have to move the furniture out of the living room! Not to worry, that's what the houseguests are for!

There you have it, reason #1 of what I'm thankful for.

Reason #2: I am thankful that my turkey didn't kill me on the way home from work today! When I woke up I realized that it is probably going to take 5 - 7 days to thaw the 20 lb bird I was going to buy. I decided to swing by the groc store on my way to work and make it "take your turkey to work day". Woo hoo! On the way home a car turned in front of me and I had to slam on the brakes. My biggest fear was that my 20 lb turkey (which actually weighs more like 150 lbs in it's current frozen state) was going to turn into a missile and put me right through the windshield. There will be no more driving around with loose frozen turkeys in the vehicle.
I refused to be killed by a flying frozen fowl. So not cool.

A street of walls...hmmm

Why is it called Wall St? I love walls, and being that I will be hitting the wall soon, it seems like an appropriate place to go. I will choose a very nice one.
Speaking of walls, I had a customer come in yesterday and buy 8 pictures. The walls are getting very bare. Good thing I have an order of pictures coming in next week!
You can't beat divine intervention.

not sure where this is going....

...but I'm working really hard to find out. At the very least, I just booked my tickets for the NY buying trip and, I know we're heading to Mississippi ...but where else am I going?
Maybe nowhere. I'll let you know.

busy as a...

Open house at the shop has been deemed
1. officially over
and
2. very successful
Next on the list: a boatload of birthdays followed by Thanksgiving, and then Christmas.
Can you say work, work, WORK? Oh, will someone remind me I'm open til 7 on Thursday nights from now until Christmas...and I have to be open til 5 on Saturdays too......aawwwww!
I hope I can write again before the new year!
Oh, by the way, the wine stopper in the picture above will be available at pepperberry's in the next couple weeks. I ordered a whole bunch of these wine stoppers made from vintage door knobs. They also come in glass, distressed metal and wood! These will be my new favorite things. I think the heaped display will be way cooler than the 3 tiered display rack they want to send too! Can't wait!

oh, if only he would have agreed

Tried to get Dad to be one of these for my open house...he didn't go for it. I was even willing to buy him a uniform! I wish I had tried to find someone else...it would have been such a nice touch! Maybe next year.
